Wound Video

Based on popular demand, I have uploaded a video of me changing the dressing in my stomach hole. Watch at your own risk...it's pretty gnarly but fascinating. It's not particularly bloody. There's a hole though, after all.

  1. Thanks for sharing. I've been having all kinds of problems with my stoma, so I'd glad do this to be rid of the ileostomy.

I'm curious how your J-Pouch output and frequency is. That's my next big concern for my second surgery next month -- too much frequency and painful output/skin irritation.

  2. The first ten days were horrible. I had cramps up to once a minute and there wasn't much I could do to make them less painful or less frequent. Two weeks after surgery I suddenly started feeling much better. I stopped having cramps all together and I've been going 5-8 times a day, which isn't bad at all!

  3. 5-8 sounds pretty good to me! (Though 2 weeks of cramps doesn't...)
